摘要
This paper states the experience and views of a major client following the successful use of a large TBM on a railway project in Hongkong,This is the first use of such a large machine operating in both hard and soft ground.The selected machine performed well under challenging circumstances and the tunnels have now been completed.The tunnelling operation faced some major technical challenges and it shows the need for not only a good TBM but also a first class team to operate it.
