By orthogonal test and statistical analysis,as well as checking and tracing tests, a study on the manufacturing technology of exterior medium density fiberboard (MDF.E) from Chinese Fir ( Cunninghamia lanceolata) had been conducted. Results indicated that Chinese Fir could be a good raw material for manufacturing exterior medium density fiberboard;under the processing parameters of glue consumption 13%, density of board 0.88 g/cm 3, hot pressing temperature 175 ℃ and hot pressing time 6 min, the properties of the 9 mm thickness sample board made in laboratory could reach the requirement of MDF National Standard.
