The catalytic behaviors of FeCl 3·6H 2O, CuCl 2·2H 2O, CuSO 4·5H 2O, CuSO 4, FeSO 4·7H 2O, ZnSO 4·7H 2O in esterification of n butyl alcohol with acetic acid are studied. It is shown that FeCl 3 CuCl 2 has better catalytic properties; in a continuous esterifying-distillating system the catalyst has good stability and activity after 150 hours reacted.
