SE is one of the new managerial strategtes developed in American automotive Industry from the earlier of 1980's. It emphasizes simultaneous cooperation and coordination among the related activities in new product development to improve design, technology and efficiency, to lower the cost and achieve the required quality. The main differences between SE and the traditional methods, the contents and development of SE, the application of SE in China's manufacturing enterprises are introduced briefly.
