摘要
文章使用2012-2017年中国22个省325个村庄的4863个农户的混合截面数据探究了村庄中草根组织发育情况对农村居民幸福感的影响,为社会组织发展情况和幸福感之间关系的讨论增添了新证据。研究发现:村庄草根组织发育程度对农村居民的幸福感具有显著正向影响,即村庄中的草根组织数量越多,其居民幸福感越高;进一步使用生活满意度法(Life Satisfaction Approach,LSA)对草根组织的货币价值进行估计发现,村庄中草根组织数量每增加1个百分点带来的幸福感增加相当于家庭人均总收入增加0.667个百分点带来的幸福感增加。研究结论表明,发展乡村草根组织是提升农村居民幸福感的一个有效途径。
Solving the question of "what will affect happiness" has become one of the most important issues for social science scholars.Based on the mixed cross-sectional data of 4863 farmer households from 325 villages in 22 provinces from 2012 to 2017 in China,this paper estimates the impact of grassroots organizations’ development on the well-being of rural residents.At present,the activities of rural grassroots organizations have become an important part of the daily life of rural residents in China,and they are part of the "global association revolution".The development of grassroots organizations has had a major impact on China’s rural economy,politics,culture,and social life.The existing literature mainly uses OLS regression or ordered probit regression to estimate the influence of different factors on happiness.Because the results obtained by OLS regression are more intuitive,this paper first uses OLS to estimate and explore the impact of the development of grassroots organizations in rural areas on the happiness of rural residents.An ordered probability model was used to test the robustness of the results.In this study,there may be two main reasons to cause endogenous problems.Firstly,reversecausality.it is not because the development of grassroots organizations has enhanced the happiness of rural residents,but because the happier farmers are more willing to set up some grassroots organizations.Secondly,there may be some missing variables.In order to solve the possible endogenous problems,this paper further uses the instrumental variable method to re-estimate the relationship between the development of grassroots organizations and the happiness of rural residents.The instrumental variables used in this paper are "the years of education of the village party branch secretary" and "the number of per capita civil organizations in the sample villager’s province."
