建筑被称为石头的史诗,石头建筑在历史上曾取得过辉煌的成就。然而在其发展过程中,石材的外在表现形式逐渐背离了建筑的内在逻辑,石头建筑一度走向衰落。现代主义建筑提倡真实地表现材料特性,追求材料运用与功能、结构的和谐,促使人们不断挖掘这种古老材料的潜质,探索石头建筑在多元化时代的表现形式。
The history of architecture is calledan epic of stone, and stone architecture hasachieved great success down the ages. In thedevelopment of stone architecture, the outerexpression of the material deviated from theinner logic of architecture, which made stonearchitecture once on the decline. The Modernismproposes the notion of honesty of expression,and pursues the accordance among material,function and structure. The present architectsengage in unearthing the latent nature of stone,the old material, and exploring the modernexpression of stone architecture in a diversifiedtimes.
