摘要
阐述器与道的关系，是古典中国哲学史的一个重要而古老的课题。从《易系辞传》谓：“形而上者谓之道，形而下者谓之器”的文字中，可以看到这一论题的抽象意义。从广义而论，道与器的命题适用于今天哲学观念中的物质与精神、存在与意识；从狭义而论，这一古典哲学话题又具有中国传统文化的特色，尤其适用于诠释先秦历史上的礼器现象。
Expounding the relationship between vessel and doctrine has long been an importa nt task in studies of the history of Chinese classic philosophy.From the sayings in 〈Yi Xi Ci Zhuan〉(a book of the terms appeared in 〈Yijing〉),that “What floats up is doctrine.What sinks down is vessel,”we can see that the meaning of this proposition is abstract.Broadly speaking,the proposition about doctrine and vessel is applicable to the modem time philosophical notion about material and spirit,as well as existence and consciousness;narrowly speaking,this topic of conversation about China's classic philosophy is characteristic of Chinese tradit ional culture which is particularly applicable to explaining the phenomenon of sacrificial vessels in history of the period prior to Qin.The key point of this tells that there are many cognitive levels of vessel and doctrine.
