MII is a logical signal interface, and its function in 100Mb/s Ethernet is equivalent to AUI of 10Mb/s Ethernet. MII makes it possible to support different media under the MAC Control Sublayer and the Reconciliation Sublayer. The paper discusses the MII interface of 100Mbps Ethernet and its implementation based on MPC860T
