The Generation of Stochastic Fractal Terrain and Its Scanning

摘要 三维地形是虚拟自然环境中不可或缺的因素.文中介绍了基于分形技术的三维地形生成技术及其虚拟浏览.以分形技术中的一维中点位移法、二维中点位移法为基础,引出了Diamond-Square算法,并介绍了使用该算法生成三维地形的过程及其实现,给出了程序实现的细节和程序运行的结果,最后,也指出了这种算法的缺陷. Three dimensional terrain is an important factor of the natural scenes in virtual environment. This paper introduces the three dimensional terrain generation technique which is based on fractal technique, and its virtual browse. Based on one dimensional midpoint displacement and two dimen- sional midpoint displacement, educes the diamond--square algorithm. Introduces the process of gener- ating three dimensional terrain by this algorithm, describes the realization of some minutiae, gives a demo of the program. At the end,points out the limitation of this algorithm.
