摘要
在矢量算子的基础上,利用图像边缘在一定尺度下二阶导数的特性,提出了一种新的彩色图像边缘检测方法。试验证明,若对检测精度,边缘完整性等方面进行综合评价,该方法优于一般方法。
Many feature-extraction methods begin with edge detection,such as Fingerprint Analysis and License Plate Recognition.Conventional color edge detection usually uses concepts similar to monochrome images.Consequently much color information are not thoroughly utilized.The idea of applying vector order statistics to edge detectors has been proposed to solve this problem. According to these approaches,we propose a scheme for color edge detection based on vector order Prewitt operators.Each channel of the color image is initially convolved with the smoothing function with the impulse response of B-spline.Then the vector order Prewitt operators are applied to the smoothed images.Furthermore,we derive a rule based on the second derivative behavior of the edge in the scale space.At last,the locations of the edge are detected after thinning and thresholding. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm has been testified for different quality license plate in this paper.It has been shown that the edges recovered by proposed method is more integrated and accurate than other general operators.
