The article introduces the structure of FIR filter, the characteristics of TMS320C31 and studies mainly the realization of FIR filter on TMS320C31 from three aspects of the setup of hardware and memory, the process of convolution and the designing of software. Among these the analyzing about the process of convolution is helpful to understand and design the program of DSP.
