摘要
香港天文台于 1987年展开了全面的环境辐射监测计划。为了增加工作的透明度 ,让公众充分了解监测计划的内容 ,领会监测数据的意义 ,独立地判断香港的环境辐射水平是否正常 ,系统的公众教育工作是不可或缺的。天文台采取的教育途径包括利用展览向公众介绍辐射、核能发电及天文台的环境辐射监测工作 ,向公众定期发表环境辐射监测计划中测量到的环境辐射水平数据。随着信息技术的发展 ,天文台在国际互联网上设立了一个网站 。
The Hong Kong Observatory started to implement a comprehensive environmental radiation monitoring programme in Hong Kong in 1987. In order to let the public fully understand the contents of the programme and the meaning of the monitoring data, as well as independently assess whether the environmental radiation level in Hong Kong is normal, a systematic public education programme is indispensable. In this regard, an exhibition at the Hong Kong Observatory Headquarters has been open to the public and introduces the basic concepts of nuclear radiation, nuclear power generation and the environmental radiation monitoring programme of the Observatory. Furthermore, information on ambient gamma radiation dose rates is issued to the public daily while more detailed results are published by the Observatory in monthly bulletins and annual reports. With the advance in information technology, the Hong Kong Observatory has also included in its Internet website a secton on radiation monitoring for public information and education purposes. (
