介绍了邻甲苯酚的性质、生产方法，概述了它在农药、香料、医药、染料、合成树脂、抗氧剂等方面的应用，分析了国内外的生产现状，评价了苯酚烷基化法的技术经济情况。
The paper introduced the properties,production methods of o－methylphenol which is one of the important basic organic chemicals with wide market potential.It gives a general description of its application in pesticide,medicine,perfume,dye,synthesis resin,irganoy etc.The article also analyzed present situation at home and abroad as well as domestic appearance consumption that is about 6－7 thousand metric tons.Techno－economic evaluation on phenol and methanol alkylation is also made in this paper.
