摘要
从科研、科普教育、园容、园艺、机构设置和资金来源等方面论述了美国植物园的特点，并针对上海植物园建设中存在的问题，提出进一步发展和建设上海植物园的构想。
The characteristics, including scientific research, public education, landscape, horticulture, management, and financial supports of the botanical gardens in U.S.A. are discussed. Some ideas are put forward to develop and construct the future's Shanghai Botanical Garden in face of the problems what happened today.
