This article summarizes the application of modern analytical and testing techniques including ion chromatography and flow injection etc. in the water and steam quality monitoring of thermal power plants and their progresses expounds the remarkable features and great potentiality of theses methods and techniques when used in the water and steam quality monitoring of thermal power plants and shows the technical progresses of water and steam quality monitoring in thermal power plants.
