摘要
“美国梦”是理解美国文化的一个重要因素。关于“美国梦”的内涵 ,长期以来 ,学术界有不同的定义。尽管说法不一 ,但却有其共同点 ,那就是“美国梦”可分为广义和狭义两个方面来理解。从广义的方面来讲 ,“美国梦”指的是作为“民主、平等、自由”的国家理想 ;从狭义的方面来讲 ,它指的是个人通过自我奋斗而获得成功的梦想。“美国梦”
The American Dream'is one of the essential subjects in American cultural studies. But what indeed is the American Dream? There has been no definite definition. On one hand, the concept seems quite abstract, concerning the ideals of a democratic nation, while on the other hand, it is very specific, referring to the pursuit of the individual for success. In fact,'the American Dream' is a kind of illusory ideal.
