The SS5 passenger electric locomotive is an up-to-date type of phase control locomotive of the 80s′. It employs new techniques as drive system with hollow shaft motor full suspension, integral load-carrying body structure, performances control as well as regenerative brake etc. Comprehensive introduction is made regarding the basic features and maior technical parameters.
