基于变换的图像压缩方法的特性分析

摘要 讨论了数字图像中的各种数据冗余 ,及应用基于变换的图像压缩方法消除这些冗余的方法 ;分析了各种变换压缩方法的特点及适用范围 ,对这些方法进行了比较 ;最后指出了这类方法的发展方向 . Transforms have played a key role in image compression. This paper analyzes the characteristics of the transform based image compression methods, including Fourier transform (FT), short time Fourier transform (STFT), discrete cosine transform (DCT) and wavelet transform (WT). Because these methods can use a small number of expansion coefficients to represent the original image, they have been successful in image compression field. They are the effective tools in this field.
