The effectiveness of hint dropping,one of the basic professional skills for middle school teachers,lies in the fact that it can play a positive role and bring about the desired effect. This paper discusses the basic components of the hint-dropping skill,the human perceptual law that must be abided by in employing the skill,and the basic requirements for the training in the shill.
