摘要
MDC OIM是由MDC提出的开发商中立和技术独立的企业元数据规范。文中首先介绍了MDC OIM的背景，然后简单介绍了元数据和MDC OIM及其结构。2000年10月MDC宣布MDC将要并入OMG并将努力使之成为全行业遵守的元数据规范。由于它有强大的支持，应该说很有成为标准的前途。
MDC OIM provides a vendor－neutral and technology－independent specification of enterprise meta data. The historical background of UML are introduced and then meta data,MDC OIM and its structure.MDC will merge into OMG and make MDC OIM become industry meta data specification.Because many big enterprises powerfully abet MDC OIM to become a standard,it should become a industry standard.
