中华民族在几千年的历史文化进程中积累了许多人居环境的经验。从原始初民的"巢居"、"穴居"到现代社会人居环境,讲求人与自然和谐相处,这都表现人类有目的选择适宜的人居环境。居环境是人类生存和生活的场所,人居环境离不开建筑风水理论的指导。风水是中国传统的环境文化思想,它强调人与环境的和谐,认为人类应该尊重环境,其主张"天地人合一"的原则,至今仍然是建设人居环境的指导理论。
