摘要
澳大利亚英语词典在20世纪的发展已经有不少介绍和研究,但是,20世纪以前的发展情况却鲜为人知。文章着重回溯澳大利亚英语词典从源头到19世纪末期的演进脉络,揭示20世纪前后澳大利亚英语词典发展的连续性和承继性,完整地呈现20世纪前澳大利亚英语词典演变的轨迹和特点。
A lot of researches have been done on the 20th-century Australian lexicography,but little is known about its origin and development before the 20th century. This paper traces its earliest beginnings and subsequent evolution up to the end of the 19th century with a view to revealing the inheriting relations between the dictionaries before and during the 20th century and their evolutional characteristics.
