摘要
《只争朝夕》是美国小说家和1976年诺贝尔文学奖得主索尔·贝娄的代表性作品。借助美国文化人类学家玛格丽特·米德的代际理论对贝娄的小说《只争朝夕》进行解读,从后象征文化的失效、互象征文化的误导和前象征文化的缺失三个方面分析,认为《只争朝夕》体现了小说家贝娄对代际关系的深层思考。
Seize the Day is a representative novel of Saul Bellow who is a famous American novelist and the winner of Nobel Prize for Literature in 1976. The thesis analyzes Seize the Day with American culture anthropologist Margaret Mead ＇s theory about relation between generations from the aspects of the failure of postfigurative culture, the misleading effect of cofigurative culture and the absence of prefigurative culture and considers that Seize the Day illustrates Bellow＇s deep thought of relation between generations.
