In 1987, the writer first discovered pyrophyllite (rock) in Guizhou when identifying a 'mud rock' sample collected from Changchong of Heizhang by the Regional Geological Surveying Branch Team of our team. This discovery led to a large pyrophyllite deposit discovered later in Heizhang, Guizhou. Through optical feature analysis, chemical analysis, X-ray diffract analysis, electrum - probe analysis, hot analysis, infra-red absorption spectrum analysis, etc. , it has been further found that the pyrophyllite belongs to a rare ITC type, that is, a multi-type triclinic system. The pyrophyllite deposit belongs to a buried metamorphic type.
