爱伦·坡是推理侦探小说的鼻祖。他尽管只创作了六篇推理侦探小说,可它们却有独创性,成为侦探小说经典写作范式。在侦探小说里玩游戏是坡的一大创造;小说里,最大的游戏玩家自然是侦探杜宾,他耍尽了花招,牢牢地吸引住读者,让人爱不释手。这实际上是坡的写作天才和智慧的具体表现。
Edger Allan Poe is the father of reasoning detective stories, six of which he writes show their originality, and become the models for classic detective stories. The game-playing in detective stories is a great new idea he brings forth;in the stories, as a detective, Dupin is certainly the greatest player in games, who always plays various tricks on his opponents, thus absorbing readers intensely and utterly, which shows Poe’s extraordinary talents and wisdom in writing.
