The Yaotianling Kiln Site was a local folk kiln of the Song Dynasty consisting of several workshop remains. The excavation to this site in 2010 was conducted in five zones, among which the Zone III had two "dragon kilns (also known as climbing kilns)" , one workshop site and large amounts of ash pits and postholes. The workshop site consisted of the paste storage cells, large-sized pugging pit and drainage ditches, the walls of all of which were simply the original earth. The products of this kiln site were mainly bluish glazed bowls, dishes, cups and plates, the decoration of which were mainly impressed designs with some incised, embossed and color-painted designs, and the style of the impressed designs was very similar to that of Yaozhou ware. The product characteristics and stratigraphical relationships showed that the date of kiln Y8 was earlier than that of Y9; their terminus post quem was the mid to the late Northern Song Dynasty and terminus ante quem was the late Northern Song Dynasty.
