This paper deals with the macroscopic fossil algae from Bed 6 of the Shilu Group, Hainan Island. This flora consists of Chuaria circularis Walcott, Tawuia dalensis Hofmann, T. sinensis Duan and Shouhsienia shouhsienensis Xing. As compared with other Precambrian floras both at home and abroad, the Chuaria-Tawuia Assemblage from the Shilu Group is quite similar to that from the Liulaobei Formation of Anhui, indicating that, the Shilu Group, at least its Bed 6 may be equivalent to the Liulaobei Formation of Late Precambrian. Also mentioned and discussed in this paper are the biological affinities and categories of the macroscopic fossil algae, the characters of the two genera Tawuia and Shouhsienia, and the difference between the widespread species Tawuia dalensis Hofmann and T. sinensis Duan.
