The concentrations of ozone( O3),nitrogen oxides( NO x),carbon monoxide( CO) and volatile organic compounds( VOCs) were monitored at the boundary of a coking factory in the northern China from June to October 2012. The monitoring data revealed that O3,NO,and CO showed a diurnal variation of single peak. The concentration of O3 was slightly higher in summer than that in autumn, while the concentrations of NO and CO was greatly lower in summer than those in autumn. In terms of NO2,its diurnal variation was much larger in autumn than that in summer. And for TVOCs,its hourly concentration increased firstly and then decreased in summer, while in autumn showed the continuous decrease trend. It can be concluded that this area was VOC-sensitive regime, due to the small ratio of VOCs/NO x. The concentrations of TVOCs were( 43. 8 ± 45. 0) × 10- 9 in summer and( 26. 7 ±29. 6) × 10- 9in autumn,in which the concentrations of aromatics, alkanes, alkenes were( 34. 3 ± 28. 1) × 10- 9,( 14. 4 ±14. 8) ×10- 9,( 5. 3 ±11. 8) ×10- 9in summer and( 7. 0 ± 7. 7) × 10- 9,( 4. 3 ±5. 0) ×10- 9and( 5. 3 ±7. 1) × 10- 9in autumn, respectively. The contributions of ozone formation potentials( OFP) of aromatics, alkanes, alkenes were estimated to be 47. 6% ~ 65. 8%,28. 0% ~ 41. 9% and 6. 3% ~ 10. 5%,respectively.
