摘要
通过对档案材料以及研究文献的解读和分析,对数学家和数学教育家杨永芳(1908—1963)的生平和科学贡献做初步研究。他在点集拓扑等数学前沿领域做出了重要的科学研究结果。他将西方先进的数学理论和数学教育制度引进地处内陆的大西北,以西北联大与其后继学校西北大学为平台,培养了新一代数学人才,开创了陕西乃至西北数学和数学教育的新纪元。
Through the interpretation and analysis of archival materials and research literatures, to initially re- view the life and scientific contribution of the mathematician and the mathematics educator Yang Yong-fang （ 1908--1963 ）. He has made important contribution to the point set topology and the other frontiers of mathe- matics. Western advanced mathematical theory, and mathematics educational system had been introduced into the northwest inland by him also. In Northwest National Associated University and one of its successors North- west University, he has cultivated a new generation of mathematical talents, and eventually founding a new era of mathematics and mathematics education in Shaanxi and the nnrlhwest China.
