摘要
"五四"诸大师中,周作人最早从有关"古文"与"白话"、"旧文学"与"新文学"、"旧诗"与"新诗"、"地方主义"与"世界主义"的相互对立互相取消的立论中走出来,也是最早超越文学的纯粹启蒙立场的"新诗"倡导者和理论建构者,他对于汉语诗歌在"新的自由"与"新的节制"、"善"的效用与"美"的天性,尤其是对于汉语的属性与汉语诗歌可能性之间的关联所作诠释和清理,至今具有重要的启示性。
Among the great masters of the May Fourth Movement, Zhou Zuoren was the first one to have come out of the conflicting binary arguments that cancelling each other, such as Ancient and Vernacular Chinese, Old Literature and New Literature, Old Poetry and New Poetry, Localism and Cosmopolitanism. He was also the earliest advocator and theoretical constructor of "new poetry", to transcended the purely enlightenment standpoint. His interpretations and sorting out of the relations between "New Freedom" and " New Restraint" in Chinese poetry, between the effectiveness of "goodness" and the nature of "beauty", especially the properties of the Chinese language and the possibilities of Chinese poetry, are still of great inspirational significance.
