摘要
自2013年1月起实行周—下午闭馆措施以来，故宫博物院观众接待压力有所减轻，对古建筑修缮、藏品保护等产生了积极作用。自2014年1月1日起，除法定节假日和暑期（每年7月1日至8月31日）外，故宫博物院正式实行周一全天闭馆。
Earlier this year Beijing＇s Forbidden City announced it would be closing early on Mondays to complete routine maintenance. Apparently this wasn＇t quite enough time to get all there tasks done, so for 2014 they are going a step further and will be closed all day. Except for the summerholiday peak season （July I to August 31） the Forbidden City will be closed every Monday.
