改革开放新时期,党中央在不同场合充分肯定毛泽东的丰功伟绩,维护毛泽东作为中国人民伟大领袖的历史地位。正确评价毛泽东的历史功过,关系国家命运和民族前途。在毛泽东评价问题上坚持科学的态度,实质上是正确认识中国的路:昨天是怎样走过来的,今天应该怎样走下去,明天将会怎样走得更好。这是事关国家命运和民族前途的重大问题。历届党中央在开拓新局面的实践中,始终坚持中国特色社会主义,这个坚持来自对毛泽东历史遗产的继承。
In the new period of reform and opening-up,the Party has acknowledged the great contributions made by Mao Zedong on difference occasions so as to maintain the historical status as a great leader of the Chinese people.The correct review of Mao Zedong's historical merits is vital for the destiny of the nation and people.To adopt a scientific attitude towards the review of Mao Zedong is,in essence,the correct evaluation of the proper paths for China in the past,at the moment,and in the future.And that bears on the future and destiny of the nation and people.In the practice of broadening new horizons,the Party Central Committees of the past have been adhering to Socialism with Chinese characteristics,which has been the rightful preservation of the historical heritage of Mao Zedong.
