摘要
诺曼·梅勒的《裸者与死者》是一部描写第二次世界大战的杰出文学作品,被认为是二战后战争文学中最好的小说之一。小说以战争为背景,描述战争压抑下的人类精神危机的种种病症:思想空虚、道德沦丧、权力和欲望的膨胀,揭示战争对人类身心的摧残和破坏,以及由此导致的人与人之间关系的疏离。人类只有去除物质主义的价值观,不断调整、端正自己的价值取向,最终才能消除精神生态危机的根源,才能从战争的桎梏中解放出来,重建一个充满公平正义的和谐社会。
Norman Mailer＇s The Naked and the Dead is one of the best novels describing the Second World War. With the Second World War as its background , the novel delineates humans＇ spiritual crises in the war： the painful void of their minds and the vacuum of their spirit; the degradation of their morality and the crazy lust for power. In doing so, it aims to disclose the catastrophic consequences of war to human beings; hence the alienation between human beings. Only if human beings get rid of the material desire and reassess their value orientation, can they free from the catastrophe of the the war and thus rebuild a harmonious society embodving fairness and Justice.
