The experiment studied the effects of different salinities on the activities of SOD and CAT in hepatopancreas of Sinonovacula constricta. The results showed that the indexes of these two enzymes varied similarly and both increaseed first and then decreased with the rise of salinity. They both reached the maximum at the salinity of 17.3. During the salinity shock experiment, it was found that with the sudden increase of salinity, the activities of two enzymes both improved significantly. But with the continuous increase of the salinity, the enzyme activities tended to decrease. The results indicated that the salinity had a big impact on the activity index of SOD and CAT in S. constricta.
