摘要
公共交通行业是一个城市的窗口行业,出租车司机的英语水平和素养在一定程度上代表着城市整体外语实力和城市经济文化的发展。本文对淄博市出租车司机英语口语、书面语和城市英语标识的现状及存在的问题进行调研,并就如何提升出租车司机英语水平提出建议,可以为提升该市出租车司机英语素养奠定基础,也可为提升城市整体英语实力、促进城市经济文化的发展提供参考依据。
Public transportation is the service trade of a city. Therefore, the English literacy and level of the taxi drivers reflect, to some extent, the development of economy and culture of a city. In view of this, the author conducts a survey concerning the taxi drivers＂ oral English, written English and the English signs of Zibo city, making recommendations with regard to enhancing the English lit-eracy of the taxi drivers in this city, which is helpful for improving the taxi drivers＂ English level, up- grading the city＇s overall English strength and promoting the development of economy and culture of the city.
