摘要
严复是晚清翻译西学的第一人,在中国近代思想史上占有特殊的地位,是一位杰出的启蒙思想家。但是这样一个有着进步思想家称誉的人,却在其后期,思想竟然出现了逆变,并由传播西学的功勋转变为捍卫传统的战士,其背后既有政治的原因,也有文化的因素,更有社会生活的影响。
Yan Fu is the father of western learning translation in late Qing Dynasty,who is honored special position in modern Chinese thinking history and an outstanding thinker of the Enlightenment. But his thoughts changed in the later period, even went backwards, from spreading western learning to defending Chinese tradition. The paper discusses this change from political, cultural and social living aspects.
