生态文明建设是我们党面对资源约束趋紧,环境污染严重、生态系统退化的严峻形势下,作出的尊重自然、顺应自然、保护自然的重大决策。生态文明突出强调人与自然、人与人、人与社会和谐共生、良性循环、全面发展、持续繁荣的文化伦理形态。要求全社会、全人类共同参与,自觉承担维护和改善生态的责任和义务。林业是一种能够提供循环、低碳的绿色产品,可持续再生的生物质能源,履行着植树造林,保护湿地等职能,在生态环境保护与改善方面具有重要作用;也是生态文明建设的首要承担者,为全社会牢固树立生态文明观发挥主体作用。生态文明建设是林业建设的新要求、新机遇,更是所有林业部门、林业人要主动承担的历史重任。
