摘要
20世纪前期,中国现代画坛发出全盘西化和改良中国画的两种声音,当时活跃在京津画坛上的留欧著名画家、美术理论家金城,就是后一种观点的代表人物之一。他在理论上主张"提倡风雅,保存国粹;精研古法,博采新知";在实践上,除了绘画创作,还通过其影响下的中国画法研究会、湖社等社团,宣传、践行了其画学理论,促进了中国画的发展。对此加以认真的研究,不但是中国现代美术史的一种总结,而且对当今高校的美术教育富有启示性意义。
In the early 20th century,there were two opinions about the reforms of Chinese painting,i.e.,to westernize it or to renovate it.Among the latter,Jin Cheng was one of them.He had studied in Europe and was a hot stuff on the painting world in Beijing and Tianjin.He proposed that painters assimilate the essence of Chinese traditional painting as well as the new knowledge;in practice,he took advantage of Chinese Painting Research Society to spread his ideas and promote the development of Chinese painting.A study of Jin Cheng can serve as a summary of the history of the Chinese modern paintings and cast new light on the fine arts education in the institution of higher learning in China.
