摘要
做好翻译不容易,特别是直译还是意译的争论由来已久。通过翻译美国著名女作家萨拉.奥恩.朱厄特的作品《尖枞树之乡》中的一章,并对翻译过程中遇到的问题进行研究,可以发现,直译与意译两者需要互补,能直译的时候就直译,不能就意译。另外,在翻译过程中采用一些翻译技巧和策略非常重要,译者必须熟练掌握并灵活运用这些技巧和策略才能更准确地做好翻译,同时,译者对作品的充分理解在翻译过程中也是非常重要的。
This paper analyses the writer＇s translation version of The Country of the Pointed Firs, and then explores further some basic translation issues. There are four parts in the paper： First it introduces briefly the author of The Country of the Pointed Firs and her writing style. Then in the second part, the writer presents her translation process, that is, understanding, expressing, auditing, and the final version of the text. In the third part, the writer describes the problems that occur when doing translation. While in the last part, the writer concludes that if one wants to translate a target works better, he must understand it better.
