The present paper describes in detail the conditions of operation,fuel and charge material supply and cooling equipments of No.1 BF prior to the blow out of the furnace for major overhaul as well as the results of investigation in the damage of the furnace proper at the down time of the furnace for overhaul,and objectively analyzes the major factors affecting the operation technology indicators and campaign life of the furnace.
