摘要
本文肯定了"信、达、雅"这一经典翻译理论对现代科技翻译的指导作用;对作为科技摘要翻译标准的"信、达、雅"具体内涵进行了界定:"信"主要表现为英译对中文摘要内容的忠实;"达"主要表现为用词选择的准确、时态用法的简练以及语态使用的合理;"雅"要求在尊重作者语言风格的前提下,尽量有紧凑的逻辑结构和简洁的行文。通过比较典型翻译例句,对文章观点进行了说明。
The criteria of ＂faithfulness,expressiveness,and elegance＂ can still guide present-day technical translation.This paper seeks to redefine the triple-character criteria： faithfulness means a true representation of the original;expressiveness means a choice of accurate words,proper tenses and right voices;and elegance means concise structures and expressions while respecting the author＇s linguistic style.
