摘要
书院是我国古代一种特殊的教育机构,作为中国历史文化重镇的陕西关中地区,曾先后出现过多所书院,这些书院创建及沿革时代、命名特点、创建缘由、创办方式,均有鲜明的地域特色。书院的功能主要有:崇祀名人先贤之地、修书或侍讲之地、教育机构、名人学者研习经典兼议时政之地、藏书、刻书之地。
