企业技术创新模式的形成及演化——基于华为、思科和朗讯模式的跨案例研究 被引量:21

The Formation and Evolution of Technology Innovation Models: Based on the Cross Case Studies of Huawei,Cisco and Lucent

摘要 技术创新模式是高科技公司的核心战略之一。以创新模式的开放度和创新成果的新颖度为维度构建了一个四象限图,把公司分为"开放型创新者","封闭型创新者","开放型改进者"和"封闭型改进者",然后对三家世界顶级通信设备公司朗讯、思科和华为进行了分析与比较。基于案例研究认为,企业创新模式早期就基本成型,当时的外部环境和创业团队的选择决定其创新模式,而后来企业创新模式仍然带有早期模式的核心特征。创新模式后来的演化在一些自然力量的作用下呈现以下规律:(1)由于公司现存结构、流程和文化的制约,"开放者"和"封闭者"之间有一道鸿沟,企业创新模式的开放程度可以有一些微调,但跨越这个界限很难;(2)企业在创新新颖度的自然移动方向是从较高的新颖度到较低的新颖度,沿相反方向移动需要很多努力和外部机缘。 Technology innovation model is one of the core strategic choices for technology companies. In this arti- cle, using the 'process openness' and the 'technology radicalness' as dimensions, we established a framework to classify technology companies into 4 categories: open innovator, closed innovator, open improver and closed im- prover. We then apply this framework to analyze the innovation models of 3 tele-communication equipment compa- nies: Lucent, Cisco and Huawei, which presents two main findings: 1) The basic technology innovation models of the three companies are determined by the founding generation in the companies' formative years. 2) Once the in- novation models are established, their natural forces will els, it is evident drive companies to evolution become paths are influenced by certain technology improver'.
