摘要
1924年,《小说月报》发表了拜伦百年祭专号,傅东华在这次专号上发表了首度翻译的拜伦长诗《曼弗雷特》。本文分析了拜伦在《曼弗雷特》中采用的超自然元素的宗教和文化背景,探索了傅东华在翻译中对它们采取的不同翻译策略和技巧,认为傅东华对于原文中超自然元素的大量的、系统性的消解式的翻译,应该是译者主动的、有意识的翻译策略选择造成的结果。
In 1924,Novels Monthly published a special issue in memory of the 100th anniversary of Byron′s death,in which Manfred was translated into Chinese for the first time by Fu Donghua.This paper analyzes the different supernatural elements in this novel and explores the different translation strategies and skills used by Fu Donghua to find out the effect achieved by the translation.It concludes that Fu Donghua chose special strategies to avoid the translation of the supernatural elements in the poem due to various reasons.
