Malamud American Jewish author employs Jews and their life to write many short stories reflecting outstanding national character of the Jew and revealing their social life and spiritual world. The plots in Genesis, Exodus and Judges showed man could realize self- salvation and redeemed others through selfsacrifice and difficulties. In The Bill, The Death of Me, small potatoes even fulfiUed their salvation with their life. The reason lies in Jewish profound religious thoughts, sin - sacrifice - salvation the constant fate formula, while the final result of the salvation is fabricated salvation. Such Jewish cultural themes on sacrifice and salvation become the thought origin of Malamud's creation.
