摘要
"蓐食"本义,历代注家一直沿用三国张晏所释:"未起而床蓐中食",即所谓"早食"。清代王念孙父子认为应指"厚食、盛食"。两说均非。"蓐食"本义应是"草食/菜食",兼具名词性与动词性。汉至晚唐五代,"蓐食"有一系列引申义:剩菜饭;匆忙而食;粗疏之食;早食。典籍中的绝大多数用例,难以确定其实在含义,也许如注家所言,通指"早食"。
The original meaning of ＂ Ruishi（蓐食） ＂ has been interpreted as ＂ eating in bed before getting up＂, as Zhang Yan once explained in Three Kingdoms. The linguists Wang Niansun and his son in Qing Dy- nasty thought that ＂Rushi＂ should mean ＂ eating one~ fill＂. Both of the previous interpretations are incor- rect. In fact, the original meaning of ＂Rushi＂ should be ＂eating vegetables＂ or ＂vegetable food＂ , so it can be used as both a verb and a noun. From Hau Dynasty to late Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties, it has a se- ries of connotations such as leftovers, hasty eating, inferior food, breakfast. It is difficult to determine its real connotation of ＂ Rushi＂ as the instances in most of famous works. Perhaps just as many notes interpret, ＂ Ruishi＂ generally means ＂breakfast＂.
