In the Ming Dynasty legendary, the role of " Jing" contains rich meaning. The emergence of Zhezi Opera accelerates the differentiation of the role of "Jing" from other roles, especially the role of "Chou" (clown), in function as well as in content, and the role of "Jing" has gradually gained the attributes of straightforwardness and unconstrained boldness. Zhezi opera has rendered the transformation of the role of "Jing" from a supporting role in the full play to a leading actor in the specific excerpt, giving full play to the characteristics of the role and intensifying the characteristics in the repetition of performance. The development of Zhezi opera has promoted the subdivision of all roles, offering opportunities to exhibit their talent as the leading performers to the full extent role thus forming the distinctive characteristics of each type of role, and the evolvement of the role of "Jing" is an excellent example as such.
