Chemical sensors are valuable in a variety of fields such as environmental chemistry, analytic chemistry, and bio - medicinal science. They provide accurate, convenient inexpensive ways of detecting and toxic heavy metal ions with high selectivity and sensitivity. The progress that has been achieved for the chemical sensors of Hg2＋ is reviewed.
