摘要
刘大夏是明朝"弘治三君子"之一。经科考入仕,曾历事四君,清廉笃实有经国之才,却几度因构陷入狱,又皆由凶遇吉,后得善终。他的政治品质主要表现为对待政治事件的深谋远虑;对待宦官的爱憎分明、立场坚定;对待政治挫折的从容淡定以及对待仕途的适时进退,这些政治品质使他能够在清官能臣难得善果的封建社会里功成而退,自我保全。
Liu Daxia was one of the ＂Three Gentlemen during the Reign of Xiaozong Emperor＂ in Ming dynasty. After getting into his political career through the selecting examination, Liu Daxia had served four emperors sequen- tially. Although he was a man of incorruptibility, honest and great ability to govern the country, he was put into pris- on several times because of his qualities. However, he was lucky enough to get out and ended well. Liu Daxia＇s polit- ical qualities could be shown from these aspects：his forethoughtfulness towards political events;his firm attitude and stand towards eunuchs;his deliberation towards political frustrations and his sense of priority towards political ca- reer. These political qualities are the very reasons why Liu Daxia could retire from his political life after winning tre- mendous successes in such a complicated feudal society where most people could not get a good ending.
