摘要
WorldCat是OCLC的联机联合目录数据库,拥有目前世界上最大的书目和馆藏信息。论文通过对WorldCat的应用情况进行研究,发现其功能、优点及特色,即丰富的资源总量、全面的个性化服务、智能的信息推送、良好的交互功能;并找寻其缺点或不足,即系统"中国本土化"并不完善。论文旨在通过一系列分析研究,为WorldCat提出可行性的中国推广策略,使中国的亿万用户受惠其中。
WorldCat is the on-line union catalogue database for OCLC, it now has the largest book-list and information for collection in the world. This paper makes the research through the application of WorldCat and finds its function, advantage and characteristic, that is, the rich summation of resources, comprehensive individual services, smart delivery of information and the favorable interactive function. As well, it searches its disadvantages and deficiency, that is, the faultiness of the Chinese localization. Through a series of analyzing~ it puts forward the feasible strategy of the spread of WorldCat in China, so as to benefit billions of Chinese customers.
